We would like to invite you to participate in the scientific prize symposium entitled “Health Begins in Early Life”.

The first period of life including the prenatal phase is considered to be a critical developmental window. Exposures during this period, such as mother’s diet during pregnancy, an altered microbiome, tobacco smoke, infections, and pets in the home are considered to interact with the child’s genotype and for some children result in a deviant trajectory leading to chronic inflammatory diseases.

The symposium is held in Copenhagen on the 3rd of October 2019 and is a celebration of Professor Hans Bisgaard being awarded the Novo Nordisk Prize 2019 – the largest medical science price in Denmark. This scientific symposium will consist of talks from world leading experts within the field of chronic inflammatory diseases, human genetics, respiratory diseases, the human microbiome, and diet all focusing on the early life as a critical time for disease onset.

The scientific program is attached and it includes an electronic link to sign up. Registration is free of charge. Please note that there is a limited number of participants.
